Ocean View, Your Booking

Standing on a balcony looking out at the ocean and the mountains and the boats and thinking about how I got here. The answer is someone else paid for it. A fan booked me this room because he said I deserved a view. I looked at the turquoise water below and decided he was right.

I spent the whole afternoon on the balcony taking photos and being silly. Tongue out, wind in my hair, the ocean behind me like a screensaver. Posted a few and my inbox went crazy. Everyone wanted to know where I was. I told them somewhere beautiful and expensive and none of their business unless they want to send me there again.

The thing about beach trips is they make everything feel like a vacation even when you are just sitting there doing nothing. And doing nothing is my specialty. Especially when the room, the view, and the trip are all on someone else.

Tomorrow I go back to Bangkok. But tonight I am watching the sunset from a balcony that cost me nothing and smiling because this is just how my life works now.
