Temple Visit, Your Good Karma
I went to the temple this morning to make merit and offer food to the monks. I wore my white top and a traditional Thai skirt because you have to dress properly at the temple. It is one of those things I take seriously even though I joke around about everything else in life.
I sat on the floor and just took in the quiet. The temple is so peaceful early in the morning. All the gold and the paintings on the walls, the smell of incense. It resets everything. I always feel calmer after I go and it reminds me to be grateful.
Making merit is a big deal here. You offer food, you pray, you think about being a better person. I am already pretty great but there is always room to improve. The monks seemed happy with what I brought so that is a good sign for my week.
If you want some good karma of your own, you know what to do. Taking care of me counts as merit in my book. I am basically a temple of my own at this point. Just a much prettier one with better outfits.
