Temple Prayers, Your Good Karma

Happy Songkran from Udon Thani. Today I went to the temple with what felt like the entire city. The hall was packed, everyone sitting together on the floor, making merit and praying for a good year ahead. It is one of my favorite traditions.

The temple was beautiful inside. Gold columns, painted walls, monks chanting. Everyone dressed in their Songkran best, lots of colorful shirts and flowers. I love how the whole community comes together like this. Old people, young people, kids running around. It feels like family.

I sat and prayed and thought about everything I am grateful for this year. My fans, my life, the fact that I get to do what I love. Not everyone gets that. I do not take it for granted.

After the temple I am going to find some water fights because it is Songkran and you have to. But first, the prayers. Good karma first, fun second. That is my rule.
